Wil Offermans is 62 years old and has been living in Granada (Spain) with his wife Junko Ueda for about 15 years. He is a passionate musician/composer. As a flutist he has given concerts and masterclasses all over the world over the past 35 years. His numerous flute compositions are performed by professionals as well as amateurs and kids. He has created great musical enjoyment in the music life of the people.
However since 8 years, he is having FND (NEAD) – Functional Neurological Disorder. FND (NEAD) is a relatively unknown neurological syndrome. Wil regularly has severe attacks (up to 8 hours of duration) that have made it completely impossible for him to work normally and to go to perform concerts and travel alone. Especially in these years the attack becomes frequent and it can happen any moment. During the recent lockdown, the attacks are getting worse and longer. That means there is no more income for him. The support from the Spanish government is scarce and he could not find any treatment options in Spain. He is facing a desperate situation now.
But there is hope: The therapy and treatment by the HSK Clinic Woerden in the Netherlands. They are the group of specialists over FND and can give him the most reliable treatment. However this route is expensive, because his Spanish social insurance cannot cover the costs. Please give Wil a chance for curing and to get his life and the music back. Help! Thank you very much!
